Thalassotheraphy comes from the Greek word thalassa – meaning “sea” and it the medical use of seawater as a form or theraphy, along with other sea products – SEAWEED!!

History of Thalassotheraphy

Wikipedia states that claims have been made about Thalassotherapy being developed in the seaside towns of Brittany, France in the 19th Century. Other claims make the practice older than this : “The origins of thermal baths and related treatments can be traced back to remote antiquity.
